How much does a trip to Florence cost?

Florence suits a wide range of budgets. Budget travelers staying in hostels and eating at local trattorias or markets can manage on around €70–100 per person per day. Mid-range travelers choosing 3-star hotels in the centre and enjoying sit-down meals should expect €150–250 per person per day. Luxury travelers at boutique hotels, tasting menus and private tours should budget €350 or more per person per day.

The biggest variables are accommodation (central Florence is expensive) and museum tickets — the Uffizi and Accademia cost €20–25 each, and booking in advance is essential. If you plan Tuscany day trips, train fares are reasonable (€10–15 each way to Pisa or Siena), but a hire car for the Chianti wine roads or Val d'Orcia adds roughly €50–80/day before fuel.

Note: driving in the historic centre is restricted by the ZTL zone — fines range from €80 to €335. A car is only worth it for countryside excursions, not city sightseeing.
